Manual shoe industry in Pakistan

How is a shoe made manually in Pakistan? Let us go through the process.

The material
The material usually consists of different types of  leather,high quality sticking glue,threads to stitch different components to make a shoe.

The craftsmen
There is a range of craftsmen who show their handcraft expertise in the making process of a shoe.

In local jargon used in Pakistan,they are called "TALLY MAN"(one who jells together the sole with the base of shoe.

Leather sheets are milked with a sticking substance called"DOODH" which is essential in turning the leather glow and ready to be cut smoothly for shoe designs.
Shoe designs are drawn on the sheet with the help of a pen or pencil and each design"FARMA" is trimmed off of the sheet with the help of a sharp edged hand tool called"RAMBAY".

The Stitching phase
When the base is ready,the stitching phase comes in.The trimmed off shoe design is stitched with the sole applying  a special type of thread called "MOOCHI TAAR".
Done with stitching stage,here comes the phase of placing a wooden shoe frame inside the shoe in order to shape it up in accordance with the required foot measurement.
The last but not the least stage is that of intertwining the brace with the ready made shoe.
The small holes in the brace strip are ensured to be in sync with the metallic pin on the left side of the shoe.
The shoeis ready to wear.
